Us Too!

Rev. Dylan Valliere

Romans 9:24-29

Context

God's promises can be trusted even though most Jews are rejecting Jesus as the savior.

God's promises have always been given selectively by God to those whom he wills.

God has alwys reserved the prerogative to choose to whom he gives his mercy and grace.

Jews and gentiles

God's saving mercy calls into Christ both Jews and Gentiles.

God's saving mercy saves some, not all Gentiles.

God's saving mercy save some, not all Jews.

God's gracious, effective calling overcomes our sinful resistance to him.

Implications and Applications

The promises of God in the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament, belong to the vessels of God's mercy.

God's election and calling should produce humility, thankfulness, and worship (praise).

God's election and calling should produce a broad vision for who God is bringing into his kingdom through faith in Christ.
