Righteousness Based on the Law

• No one keeps the rules perfectly therefore no one will be righteous by keeping the rules.
• No one is acceptable to God on the basis of his behavior.

A Doable Righteousness

• If rule-keeping righteousness isn’t an option, what else is there?  Righteousness by faith.
• A righteousness based on faith does not believe it is deserved or earned.
• God’s people will only, someday, rightly live for God after God fixes their sin-broken hearts. God is fulfilling that promise through Jesus.
• God makes righteousness doable for us by substituting Jesus for rule-keeping.  Jesus is righteous for us and gifts us his righteousness—a gift received by faith not works.
• Jesus is enough.  Jesus is more than enough.  And Jesus wants to be enough FOR YOU. God sent him to be enough ON YOUR BEHALF.
