Know Him

- God is knowable because he has chosen to reveal himself.
- God has revealed himself to all people through the world he has created.
- God he revealed himself on a limited basis through his Word and his Word.
- The way that God has revealed Jesus Christ to us is through the Bible.
- The Bible has many authors and yet, ultimately only one author: God himself.
- The inspiration of Scripture means that God caused the Bible writers to pen exactly what he wanted to say, down to even the smallest details.
- The illumination of Scripture refers to the work of the Holy Spirit which enables people to understand and embraces the teaching of Scripture.
- God manifests his grace to us in putting his words on paper for us and bringing them off the page and into our hearts and minds.
- To refuse to know God on his terms is to refuse God.
- We will either know God has he has revealed himself or we will be idolators.
- “Keep your finger on the text.”
- Let your heart and mind be filled with and shaped by God’s Word.
- Commit yourself to reading God’s Word that you may know him, love him, trust him, and follow him.
- Being people who live in God’s Word will transform the way we think.
- Being people who live in God’s Word will keep us from us from false teaching.
- Being people who live in God’s Word will keep us from sin.
