Rev. Dylan Valliere

Luke 19:28-40

The Disciples' Welcome

Right or Wrong?

The educated, religious leadership of the day clearly thought the disciples who proclaimed Jesus to be the King who Comes in the Name of the Lord to be out of line.

As Prophecied

Jesus' disciples witnessed Jesus ride into the capital city of Jerusalem on a donkey in fulfillment of God's Word given through the prophecy of Zechariah approximately 500 years earlier.

Worthy of Praise

"Behold, your king is coming to you righteous and having salvation is he"

Our Need to Hear from God

Have You Not Read?

"[Jesus] assumed that those claiming to be the people of God would have read the Word of God." (Don Whitney)

Live By Every Word

"Jesus once said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" (Luke 11: 28). Merely listening to God-inspired words is not the point. The purpose of all methods of Bible intake is to "keep it," that is, to do what God says...." (Don Whitney)

Good Works

The Bible is central to God's method of equipping you for every good work.

Becoming Like Jesus

"- your growth in godliness is greatly affected by the quality of your Bible intake." (Don Whitney)

Future Grace

God means for us to look back and perceive his past grace, look around and perceive his present grace, and look forward trusting him for future grace.
