Three-Part Pattern

The logic of Scripture in Romans 1:23-28 is in three pieces and demonstrated three times. The three parts are:

• people preferring God’s creation over God
• God letting us have what we prefer
• and our lives becoming dramatizations of our disordered values.

Preferring Creation to Creator

People choose what God has made over God himself.  In our sinfulness we choose what we prefer: things God has made, not God.
