Rev. Dylan Valliere
Sin is first and foremost a devaluing of God’s glory.
The heart of sin is valuing things God has made over and above God himself.
For God to “wink” at sin would be for God to join sinners in devaluing his own glory.
Demeaning and dishonoring God requires punishment.
The severity of sin’s grotesqueness is seen in the price of forgiveness: the death of Jesus.
The grace and righteousness of God is seen in the price of forgiveness: the death of Jesus.
God justifying people in the past does not compromise God’s righteousness because it was dependent on Jesus dying for them as a propitiation.
