Justification

Justification is a theological concept with three essential components.

Justification is a legal event where God declares people “just”.

Included in God’s verdict is that we are forgiven.

Included in God’s verdict is that we’re credited with the righteousness of God.

Redemption

God gifts us a forgiven, righteous verdict through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

The redemption that is in Christ Jesus is literally the price paid to rescue people from the guilt of our sin and God’s condemnation of us for our sin and the power of sin over our lives.

Propitiation

A propitiation is a sacrifice that turns aside God’s wrath and make God favorable toward us.
